President John Dramani Mahama has in consultation Sheikh Dr Nuhu Sharabutu, National Chief Imam dissolved the National Hajj Committee.
A statement signed by John Abdulai Jinapor, Spokesperson to the President on Thursday and copied to Ghana News Agency in Accra, said the dissolution of the Committee takes immediate effect.
The President has meanwhile appointed Ibrahim Abdul Rauf Tanko, a former Member of Parliament for Yagaba-Kubori in the Northern Region, to manage the activities of the Hajj Committee until a substantive Committee is constituted.
