‘27’ is a two-part project born from malaïka’s deep reflections with herself and her close community, serving as a self-archive from when she was 27 years old. 

From these reflections, she crafted a 7-track EP (called ‘27’) and collaborated with two photographers on a self-portrait series, resulting in 27 images shaped by different perceptions of her. Beyond these, ‘27’ invites collective reflections on self, archival traditions, and the role of art as a tool for documentation.

The showcase evening features:

An exhibition of the 27 photographs
An immersive blind-folded listening of the music project
A conversation/Q&A session about the work with malaïka
A full live performance set by malaïka(with a few surprises)
