Wiawso College of Education
Wiawso College of Education was established in February 13,1952 in Kumasi. The college was known as Wiawso Body Corporate Training College.
Twenty nine (29) pioneer students started the school with three (3) tutorial staff. Otumfuo Sir Agyemang Prempeh II, the then Asantehene, paid a visit to the college on February 16,1952 to add his royal blessing to the birth of mother WATICO.
The Rgt. Rev.
John S.S. Dally, the then Anglican Bishop of Accra made available to the college the premises of erstwhile St.
Augustine\'s college for use by Wiawso Body Corporate Training College. The Anglican Day Training College which was going on concurrently at Accra was then moved under the directive of the then Minister of Education to join Wiawso Corporate Body in Kumasi.
The name was then changed to Wiawso Anglican Training College (WATICO). On 29th October 1964 the college was finally moved from Kumasi to Sefwi Wiawso in the Western Region.
