• Educational background and diplomas: Finance Post Graduate diploma with recognized Professional Qualification
• 5-10 years post qualification experience in a distribution or manufacturing environment
• Knowledge or understanding of local tax requirement (direct and indirect tax)
• Able to report and explain financial results to local and regional management
• Complex problem solving and project management experience
• Person with drive, energy, and willingness to go the extra mile to get the job done.
• Must thrive in an environment driven by tight schedules/deadlines and to deliver results
• Strong IT skills and must be an effective communicator

Description
A reputable agriculture and manufacturing company in the freezones is looking for a Financial Director who will be responsible for the finance & accounting entity of subsidiary(ies), With the day-to-day financial accounting of the business, he/she will be responsible for developing a strong Finance team and maintaining robust controls over financial accounting systems, with a "no surprises" culture. Through the team, he/she will have primary responsibility for the preparation of timely business and financial reports and analysis for submission to site and group management to support business decisions. He/she will also be responsible for cash management including currency transfer issues to the company’s headquarters.
DUTIES:
- Strategy, Planning and Management
- Accounting, General Ledger, Administration and Operations
- Financial Management & Cash Management
- Tax management
- Undertake ad hoc projects as required
- Develops talent and shares best practice across the region
- Supports CFO and Global team
- Challenges current working practices and processes to drive improvement with the finance department and operations
- Maintains effective working relationships with the Company’s stakeholders and external parties, including External Audit Team and Banks
- Drives projects that reduce overall costs
