As part of our strategic growth and commitment to academic quality, we invite applications from suitably qualified and experienced individuals for the position of Director of Quality Assurance.
Job Summary: The Director of Quality Assurance will provide strategic leadership in developing, implementing and monitoring the University’s quality assurance policies, systems and processes. The successful applicant will ensure that all academic and administrative activities comply with national regulatory requirements and international best practices in higher education.
The Position
- Develop, implement and review the University’s Quality Assurance Policy and Framework.
- Coordinate institutional quality assurance activities and promote a culture of continuous quality improvement.
- Ensure compliance with the standards and requirements of the Ghana Tertiary Education Commission (GTEC) and other relevant regulatory and accreditation bodies.
- Lead program accreditation, institutional audits and quality reviews.
- Monitor academic standards, teaching effectiveness, assessment practices and student learning outcomes.
- Coordinate institutional self-assessment exercise and prepare quality assurance reports.
- Conduct internal quality audits and recommend corrective and preventive actions.
- Organize quality assurance training and capacity-building programs for academic and administrative staff.
- Analyse institutional performance indicators and advise Management on quality enhancement strategies.
- Liaise with internal and external stakeholders on quality assurance matters.
- Perform any other duties assigned by the President.
Qualification and Experience
- Hold a PhD from a recognized university
- Have a minimum of five (5) years of relevant work experience in higher education, including significant experience in quality assurance, accreditation and academic administration.
- Demonstrate a thorough understanding of quality assurance systems in higher education and the regulatory framework governing tertiary education in Ghana.
- Possess proven experience in program accreditation, institutional audits and policy development.
- Have excellent analytical, organizational, leadership and communication skills.
- Be proficient in the use of information technology and data management systems.
