As part of our strategic growth and commitment to academic quality, we invite applications from suitably qualified and experienced individuals for the position of Academic Director.
Job Summary: The Academic Director will provide strategic leadership for the University’s academic programs and ensure the delivery of high quality teaching, learning, research and academic administration. The successful applicant will work closely with the President, Heads of Departments and other stakeholders to achieve the academic objectives of the University.
The Position
- Provide leadership in the planning, implementation and evaluation of academic programs.
- Ensure compliance with the standards and regulations of the Ghana Tertiary Education Commission (GTEC) and other relevant regulatory bodies.
- Lead curriculum development, program reviews and accreditation processes.
- Promote excellence in teaching, learning, research and innovation.
- Coordinate academic planning, timetabling, examinations and quality assurance activities.
- Develop and implement academic policies and procedures.
- Support faculty development, mentoring and performance management.
- Prepare academic reports and advise Management on academic matters.
- Foster partnerships with local and international academic institutions.
- Perform any other duties assigned by the President.
Qualification and Experience
- Hold a PhD in Leadership from a recognized university
- Senior Lecturer rank will be an advantage
- Must have a minimum of six (6) years of relevant teaching, research and academic management experience in a tertiary institution
- Demonstrate a strong record of scholarly publications and research
- Possess excellent leadership, communication and interpersonal skills
- Must have a sound understanding of Ghana’s higher education regulatory environment, particularly GTEC requirements
