Description
Head of Infant is needed for an International School who runs the Cambridge Curriculum at Adenta
Duties and responsibilities
- Lead teachers and staff, and in the absence of a Director of Academics, supervise all teaching and learning activities, programmes and documents
- Prepare and maintain teaching timetables, and ensure teachers report regularly and promptly for duties.
- Observe lessons and suggest training support for teachers where necessary.
- Oversee the school’s day-to-day operations - disciplinary matters, managing the budget of the section and advise on hiring teachers and other personnel in the section.
- Organize and oversee all forms of school orientations in the section: new pupils, new staff, new parents
- Conduct teacher and staff evaluations and advise on promotions and disciplinary measures for staff
- Present reports, documents and other findings related to the management and success of the section on a regular basis.
- Ensure the section follows regulations set by local educational authorities and, where applicable, CIE.
- Create and sustain a safe environment for teaching and learning
- Oversee Examinations:(External & Internal) in the Section. This role includes:
- Overseeing organizing and supervising all internal examinations.
- Liaising with GES / CIE to organize and conduct all external examinations.
- Maintaining regular contact with the relevant external examination board about updates of curriculums and syllabuses and implementing changes to the school’s curriculum where necessary.
Qualifications/Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in education, or related field; master’s degree preferred.
- Proven experience in school administration, preferably in an international school or educational setting.
- Strong leadership skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate teams toward shared goals and objectives.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and conflict resolution skills, with a focus on building trust and fostering collaboration.
- Sound knowledge of educational principles, regulatory requirements, and industry trends in international education.
- Proficiency in relevant software applications and technology tools for administrative management and reporting.
- Extensive knowledge of Laws and regulations regulating education in Ghana
- Awareness of Data Protection and confidentiality issues
- Awareness of and work within national legislation and school policies and procedures relating to Health and Safety
