Job brief
We are looking for a 2 Factory HR Manager to oversee all aspects of human resources practices and processes in our Factories, both at Spintex and Tema, Greater Accra Region.
Below is the summary of the Job duties of the Human Resource Manager
Industrial Relations
Visits to factory floor regularly, interact with workers with the view to knowing their problems, being proactive and resolving issues that could lead to the down tool by workers
Provides support for the review of CBA by carrying out benefit surveys and participating in negotiations
Interprets HR policies and labour legislation for factory managers and supervisors
Personnel Administration
Manages staff leave, prepares annual leave plan, Monitors and enforces the implementation of leave plan
Staff file management, ensure completion, correctness, and regular update using the approved checklist
Prepares monthly human resources report
Processes applications for loans, salary advances, and other benefits endorsed by the supervisor and approved by the factory manager
Prepares inputs for the monthly payroll
Vets pay vouchers prepared by the outsourcing agencies.
Jobs Structure
Liaises with managers and supervisors and prepares job descriptions for newly created jobs and updates organization charts and existing job descriptions
Performance Appraisal
Assist unit head in the development and setting of KRA for staff in each unit
Ensures staff performance is reviewed through appraisals for all staff members.
Provides support to managers and supervisors in the completion of performance assessment forms.
Shared feedback on appraisal outcome with staff and Put initiated improvement program for identified areas of improvement
Gives input in the computation and communication of annual merit increases to employees.
Recruitment & Selection
Maintains data bank of unsolicited applications from job applicants and keeps track of candidates interviewed
Sources CVs, shortlists applicants, and coordinates interviews, selection, and placement as required—reference check for new staff.
Liaises without sourced contractors for replacement or filling the new vacancy as required
Prepares schedules and coordinates the orientation of newly engaged employees.
Maintains and monitors staffing levels developed for the factory to ensure strict compliance
Training & Development
Liaises with managers and supervisors on the regular identification of training needs of employees.
Liaises with the Safety Manager to prepare yearly training plans for GMP, Fire drill,s and Safety committee meeting sessions
Organizes programs to facilitate staff development
Organizes induction program for all categories of staff
Health & Safety
Undertakes regular audits of the factory to ensure that health and safety standards and regulations are adhered to
Maintains contact with employment agencies, Labour unions, training service providers, and security agencies

Maintains the record of all accidents, conducts investigations into accidents, and submits reports on causes and preventive measures to factory management and Group HR manager.
Responsibility for general cleanliness & housekeeping of the factory and surrounding areas
Departmental Relations
Maintains contact with heads of units in the factory, Head of HR, and Corporate Office Accounts Department
External Relations
Maintains contact with employment agencies, Labour unions, training service providers, and security agencies
All machinery is well maintained and utilized as per the set normal
Manpower Planning & Budgeting as per the agreed cost and productivity norms
Ensuring Inter-department workflow is smooth and well-coordinated
Requirements and skills
- Proven working experience as HR Manager or other HR Executive
- People-oriented and results-driven
- Demonstrable experience with Human Resources metrics
- Knowledge of HR systems and databases
- Ability to design strategy along with leadership skills
- Excellent active listening, negotiation, and presentation skills
- Competence to build and effectively manage interpersonal relationships at all levels of the company
- In-depth knowledge of labour law and HR best practices
- Degree in Human Resources or a related field
