Description
Our client, a pharmaceutical company is looking for a highly efficient and proactive Chief Human Resource Officer to assist with the operations of the company.
ROLE PROFILE
The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and executing human resource and corporate affairs/corporate relations policies, strategies, and plans to deliver the company’s business strategy, objectives, targets, and plans. He/she will also perform the following duties:
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop and implement human resource strategies and plans to ensure the delivery of the company’s business strategy, objectives, targets, and plans.
- Demonstrate a commitment to equity, excellence, and high expectations for all employees by developing and deploying organizational policies and structures that remove barriers and foster inclusion for all.
- Align organizational structure, roles, and responsibilities to achieve goals.
- Oversee/lead talent acquisition, career development, succession planning, retention, training and development, compensation and benefits programs across the business.
- Ensure that the organization develops a high-performing, results-focused and mission-driven culture.
- Manage unions effectively to ensure a stable industrial relations environment.
- Strategically gauge staff morale, addressing organizational issues while providing HR solutions and increasing organizational effectiveness and health, through planned interventions as needed.
- Participate in strategic planning while providing advice and support to executives and management on matters of culture reinforcement, goal setting, policy development and implementation as well as the implementation of strategic objectives.
- Develop and implement a comprehensive talent management program, including talent acquisition, employee training and development, and retention to meet the human capital needs of the company.
- Develop and maintain performance management and appraisal programs.
- Work with the executive management team and board to ensure sound and comprehensive succession planning.
- Develop and implement compensation and benefits programs, including job descriptions, classification, grading and salary structure which are competitive and cost-effective.
- Benchmark the competitiveness of the company’s human resources programs and practices against the relevant market and make recommendations for improvements and changes.
- Ensure benefit plan communication, enrolment, and administration.
- Remain current concerning employment laws and regulations.
- Maintain an effective program of compliance with human resource-related laws and regulations and manage relationships with compliance agencies.
- Oversee Human Resource systems and employee records to ensure accuracy and improve the overall operation and effectiveness of the organization. Ensure timely and accurate submission of data as requested.
- Work with assigned board committees (e.g., Human resources, remuneration and nominating) to develop policies, oversee policy implementation, and meet the related needs of the board.
- Work with the Chief Executive Officer and Executive Committee (EXCO) to develop and deliver a focused corporate affairs/corporate relations strategy that protects/promotes the company’s reputation to deliver its strategy.
- Engage the leadership team in proactively building relationships with key local stakeholders and in securing appropriate resources to deliver the company’s corporate affairs/corporate relations strategy.
- Ensure the creation and communication of a favourable public image through the management of all aspects of corporate communications and 360-degree stakeholder engagement.
- Ensure engagement of media, investor community, industry analysts, government agencies, and relevant external stakeholders to drive the company’s strategy to be recognised as a responsible corporate entity.
- Work with the leadership team to build and protect the company’s reputation internally and externally, including in times of crisis.
- Lead and maintain best-practice standards in corporate relations consistent with the company’s strategy and values.
- Manage a comprehensive external communications strategy that directly supports the business strategy, vision, and values using a range of appropriate tools that are measurable.
- Manage a comprehensive internal communications strategy in liaison with C Suite colleagues to ensure business-wide employee alignment.
- Work with the Marketing leadership to ensure that effective arrangements exist to promote strong media relations, and maximise marketing opportunities to promote the company and take up its products and services.
- Represent the company on formal occasions when required, undertaking as necessary reasonable civic duties.
- Ensure close liaison with internal stakeholders to develop and implement policies that align with and enhance the company's brand and reputation.
- Build strong internal relations in a way that broadens key skill set and builds organisational capability.
- Ensure enhancement of the company’s engagement with citizens, communities and representative groups through modern, efficient and effective consultation systems and techniques.
- Ensure the development and effective utilization of opportunities to promote sustainable communities in which the company operates.
- Undertake the strategic lead on specific projects or work on behalf of the Chief Executive as required.
- Perform any other duties that may be assigned from time to time by the CEO.
