The purpose of the Business Development Manager role is to drive the growth of the business by identifying new business opportunities, developing and maintaining relationships with clients, and expanding the company's customer base.
MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Build new commercial opportunities and activities.
- Identify territorially new business line/products/segments.
- Create new market for products by demonstrating and creating awareness.
- Planning and executing all activations with the territory.
- Position the company as the leading fertilizer within the territory.
2. Build a local ecosystem of partners and strong relationship with agricultural stakeholders.
- Establish relationships with clients and decision-makers.
- Ensure quality relationship with authorities, trade associations, institutional stakeholders, and intermediaries to promote the company’s commercial offering.
3. Manage the sales & commercial activities with the allocated territory
- Manage the sales resources dedicated to the territory.
- Manage product line to maximize sales revenues and meet corporate objectives.
- Perform sales activities on key distributors/commercial farms/plantations.
- Forecast annual, quarterly, and monthly revenue streams within the territory and provide quarterly results assessments to the sales manager.
- Market intelligence gathering.
- Monitor competition by gathering current marketplace information on pricing, products, new products, promotions. - Lead the cash collection efforts to ensure sales are paid on time.
4. Sales Reporting
- Prepare sales reports, analyze data, and present insight to senior management.
- Monitor sales performance, identify areas for improvement, and implement corrective actions when needed.
