Purpose of Position
To develop the strategy for product category and researches new product options in the category to drive sales and achieve targets. Also to lead a team that provides category insights and proposals by analyzing marketing and customer data and monitoring relevant market conditions.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
• Creates and develops long term plans and strategy for the success of assigned product category
• Develops strategies for new or updated products that could improve the category’s overall performance.
• Builds partnerships in the industry to promote a category’s products while cutting costs and increasing product sales.
• Leads the implementation of brands marketing plans, monitors and track budgetary expenditure on a monthly basis.
• Monitors, Controls & Reports Category Performance through brand health indicators such as NNS, GM, MC & key consumer KPI’s providing solutions to shortfalls.
• Monitors the performance of both individual products and category overall by using data to determine the best- and worst-performing products, and assessing such performance against competitors.
• Liaises with the Sales team in proposing optimal pricing through analysis of sales trends, competitors, buying habits of products to promote sales opportunities.
• Makes forecasts for product demand to ensure the sustainability of inventory
• Fosters trust relationships with POS vendors to achieve timely and quality of service delivery
• Develops and implement renovation and innovation strategies for failing products
• Leads innovation through creativity to promote relevant and effective digital brands campaigns.
• Assumes responsibility of budget development and revenue for assigned category
• Coordinates with the Warehouse/Logistics team in the management of inventory levels
• Leads and liaises with creative on brand packaging artworks both local and group (Ipro).
• Ensures Product Life Cycle Management including demand forecasting and minimising residual.
