Our client, a reputable construction Company is looking to hire an experienced Vulcanizer to support their operations in Ghana.

ROLE PROFILE

Selected candidate will be responsible for vulcanizing breaks and holes in casings and treads of motor vehicle tires: Cuts and trims broken sections of tire.

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Vulcanize breaks and holes in casing treads of motor vehicle tires.


• Cut and trim broken sections of tire with knife.


• Scrape and clean work area, using electrically or air-rotated wire brush.


• Coat the break on inside of tire with rubber cement.


• Cut raw and corded rubber patches rolls into rupture, using hand roller, to make sure adhesion is strong.


• Cover rupture on the outside of tire with tread rubber, work rubber into hole with hand roller.


• Place tire in tire mould of vulcanizing machine which has been heated to specified temperature.


• Adjust air or steam bag inside tire, inflate it to exert pressure on tire in mould.


• Clamp tire in mould and allow it to remain until the rubber is vulcanized and patch fuse with surrounding rubber.
