SENIOR GEOMATIC ENGINEER
An infrastructure construction company requires an experienced geomantic engineer with extensive experience of GIS software platforms as well as the operation of drones for the purpose of performing both land and topographical survey activities
The geomantic Engineer shall be responsible in supervising all survey activities ensuring best practices are implemented alongside with the quality assurance and involvement in the development related to land surveying, scope of the project which includes calculations of latitude, longitude, spot height, angels and arrears and other information for map making. You will be expected to assume significant technical responsibility and help with supervising the day-to-day execution of the projects workload.
- Plans, organizes, coordinates and directs work of survey crew engaged in surveying land surface to determine precise location and measurement, elevations, lines, areas and outline of areas for construction
- Review, analyze work methods and research /examine previous survey evidence, marks, deeds, physical evidence and other records to obtain data needed for surveys.
- Keep detailed and accurate records of crew activities, field survey data and process data from field records.
- Keeps accurate notes, records and sketches to describe and certify work performed.
- Determines methods and procedure for establishing or re-establishing survey control.
- Study operational problems and recommend changes, coordinates findings with work of engineering and architectural personnel, clients and other concerned staff of the project.
- Reports on events and activities which affect the survey and assumes legal responsibility for the completed work
- Oversee the measurement of completed construction work to determine “as built” quantities for the project which are used in computing the cost of the project
- Inform foreman to strictly adhere to the technical specification of the earthworks related activities.
- Effective use of Survey instruments and related software’s. eg. GPS,(RTK) Total Station, Automatic Level Auto Cad.
- Full proficiency with drone operation as it relates to use for topographical surveys.
- Design template to monitor activities on site and create backup plans
- Ensure safe working conditions for team members and how to safely handle instruments and accessories.
- Check instrument status if out of calibration and can affect field measurements by running a loop traverse and a two peg test with report.
Educational background: CTCIII, HND and BSc
Work Experience: A minimum of Four (4) yeas working experience.
