Required Minimum Qualifications & Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Journalism/Communications Studies and demonstrated excellence in journalistic reporting, editing, interviewing and writing journalistic style stories. Must be able to shoot journalistic photos and commission/manage others who do. Ability to analyse information, evaluate options and to think and plan strategically Strong interpersonal, organizational, team building, presentation, partnering and representational skills. Strong team leadership and management skills. Excellent oral and written communication. Refined and well-organised multi-tasking skills Computer literacy in MS Office Suite. A highly motivated individual with a strong customer service orientation.

Purpose:

To Provide quality content that promotes the interventions of INGH and demonstrates the outcome and impacts of INGH’s activities

Report to:

Manager , Business Development & Communications.

Key Responsibilities

 

A: Data Collection And Analysis

1. 
   
   
   
   • Collect first hand information on Programmes and activities on the field.
   
   
   • Take journalistic photos during data collection exercise.
   
   
   • Creating and maintaining various department and statistical reports and assisting with preparing presentations.
   
   
   • Creating a photo gallery on all INGH interventions.
   
   
   
   

B: Report Writing

• Write journalistic-quality stories and photos that equip Partner Countries to educate and engage their audiences through multiple media channels. 


• Identify compelling story content and best method for its delivery.

C: Communication/Public Relations

• Liaise with the print and electronic media to present the interventions and impacts of INGH’s activities.


• Generate and disseminate human interest, transformation and life changing stories from the work of INGH to the media, partners and donors.


• In collaboration with all Programme Officers and Assistants, generate photographs and audio visuals that will enhance the presentation of INGH interventions and Programmes.


• Organise photos, videos, publications and any communication materials that demonstrates INGH’s interventions for exhibitions.

D: Others

• Carry out all other duties and assignments that may arise as directed by the Programme Manager.

NB: A clean police criminal report on Child Abuse; Sexual Exploitation, Abuse and Harassment will be required.
