Job Summary
The Assistant Project Material Coordinator supports the planning, coordination, tracking, and control of project materials to ensure timely availability and efficient utilization for project execution. The role involves assisting with inventory management, procurement coordination, logistics, documentation, and communication with suppliers and project teams to prevent material shortages and delays.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in coordinating the procurement, delivery, storage, and distribution of project materials.
- Monitor material requirements and ensure timely availability for ongoing projects.
- Maintain accurate records of material receipts, issuance, usage, and stock levels.
- Support inventory management activities, including stock counts and reconciliation.
- Liaise with suppliers, warehouse personnel, procurement teams, and project staff regarding material status and deliveries.
- Track material deliveries and follow up on delayed or outstanding orders.
- Prepare material reports, logs, and documentation for management review.
- Ensure proper handling and storage of materials in line with safety and quality standards.
- Assist in verifying material specifications and quantities received against purchase orders and delivery notes.
- Support cost control initiatives by minimizing material wastage and losses.
- Participate in project meetings relating to material planning and coordination.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, procurement procedures, and project requirements.
