EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE * Bachelor’s degree in Geosciences/Geology/Geological Engineering * Minimum of 3 years experience working in the mining or related industrial operations as an exploration geologist, geologist, or possibly geophysicist. REQUIREMENTS * Working knowledge of the rules and requirements needed to execute geologic and engineering reports and documentation, as well as the processing of samples from trenches and boreholes. * Working knowledge of the technology used in geological exploration works execution. * Ability to design and apply technological and measuring equipment. * Knowledge in local and international practice and experience in geologic exploration works. * Knowledge of labour safety rules, safe operation of exploration and mining equipment, production sanitary and fire regulations. * Ability to observe working hours and working schedule of the company. * Ability to work in good faith, to support a businesslike, creative and friendly atmosphere in the geologic exploration department.

Our client, an international mining exploration and production firm is looking to hire a proactive Exploration Geologist to help with their operations in Ghana.

ROLE PROFILE

The selected candidate will be responsible for monitoring all types of geological exploration works and geological maintenance.  The candidate will ensure all information are entered into database and relevant documentation on samples needed for further analysis and studies are properly completed.

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Participate in works on geological studies of the mineral resources and other geological tasks according to standards, policies, and practices of execution of the geological works


• Monitor all types of geological exploration works and geological maintenance.


• Describe and measure objects of geologic observation.


• Maintain primary geological documentation, it’s processing, registering, and keeping.


• Enter information into the database according to the primary documentation.


• Manage and monitor timely and reliable sampling by filling out the relevant documentation.


• Control samples taking, packaging and shipment for further analysis and studies.


• Manage rational positioning of the manpower on samples taking sites and control its carrying-out.


• Manage and control heavy machinery on trenching and drilling sites preparation.


• Control time and quality of the usage of the manpower allocated for exploration and general works.


• Maintain labour safety during the works.


• Manage and control reduction and disposal of the processed samples with classification on ore types.


• Maintain cleanness and tidiness of the workspace and warehouse.


• Keep the company’s assets and properties in good order and condition.


• Adhere to fire regulations, industrial sanitary and safety rules, labour order and job description.


• Perform any other duties assigned by Chief Geologists, Chief Exploration Officer or their acting officers.
