- Manage the Quality Assurance department for Group to meet targeted goals for all quality metrics.
- Train and manage Quality Assurance department and Group operational staff on processes, policies and procedures on a planned, annual, onboarding and Corrective action basis.
- Manage and assist sectional managers of the Group to effectively track and report quality metrics for the department in the concise process to senior management to use for performance review, and Continual Improvement considerations.
- Serve as Group's "Management Representative" for all facility audits and Standards such as FDA, GSA, Customer Audits, and Yum! Brands- Warehousing and Transportation, and any other requirements to be adopted by the Group’s Directors, and deliver a 100% “NON-AUTOMATIC FAILURE compliance” in all Audit activities.
- Perform, and lead a cohesive team with strict enforcement of health, food safety and statutory regulations, quality standards, governance processes and compliance requirements.
- Lead and implement adequately all Statutory, and Regulatory Compliance applicable to the Group’s Business.
- Operated and Manage Transport (Secondary Distribution) performances against YUM audits (Food Safety, Quality Systems, Packaging, Distribution and Transport). Close gaps identified in both internal and external audits and drive compliance and continuous improvement with 100% audit compliance.
- Carry out corporate quality documentation and reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing trends for failed processes, stability, studies, recalls, and corrective actions.
- Develop and approve Suppliers against requirements of Standards, on reducing non-conformances, especially in local suppliers. Serve as Lead QA in guiding local suppliers to realize compliances with Standards/ Requirements especially Yum! Brands FSA, QSA, Warehousing & Transportation Standards/ Requirements etc.
- Understand and adequately implement and interpret all Yum! Brands required standards in the operations of Stores- ACE standards, Warehousing & Transportation standards etc.
- Lead teams on New Product Development (NPD), identify approved but cheaper alternatives for the NPD department, develop samples for trials, SOP’s, and training for team members, work on packaging, product pricing/ costing and benchmark against internal COS% for Operations, Marketing, GM & Yum review and successful launch of the product.
- Develop processes, policies and procedures for other areas within the department resulting in integrating operations and quality assurance processes.
- Conduct mock crisis management exercises at an agreed frequency.
- Plan and conduct Mock Recall of Raw and Products received, stored and distributed to Yum-approved DC’s, and Stores with 100% Effectiveness.
- Monitor raw products complaints from restaurants, analyze, plan and implement corrective action
- Plan and train all Supervisors, Team Members, Loaders, and Drivers, based on YUM! Guidelines.Training includes;
o Crisis Management
o Product Security
o Facility HACCP System
o Good Manufacturing/ Distribution Practices
o Food Safety & Hazardous Material
o Yum! Brands Receivers, Loaders and Storing
o Cleaning & Sanitation
- Supervise and help maintain Good Hygiene Practices (GHP), effective cleaning & sanitation and Personnel Hygiene Standards across all Group Businesses’.
- Develop, train and maintain Statutory, and Regulatory Compliance Programs, Procedures, SSOP’s Records and monitor the same across all Group businesses.
- Track products, cleaning chemicals and other high-valued raw materials used in the Group business’s and advise Directors as required.
