Job Summary
The HR Research Officer supports evidence-based HR training and consulting services through systematic research, data analysis, and knowledge development. Reporting to the Supervisor – Training & Consulting, the role is responsible for conducting HR-related research, benchmarking, data collection, and analysis to inform training programs, consulting solutions, policy development, and strategic decision-making.
The position plays a critical support role in ensuring that training and consulting interventions are grounded in current labour trends, best practices, and reliable data.
Key Responsibilities
1. HR Research & Data Analysis
· Conduct HR-related research on topics such as labour laws, workforce trends, talent management, employee engagement, and organizational development.
· Collect, analyze, and interpret quantitative and qualitative HR data to support consulting and training initiatives.
· Carry out benchmarking studies to compare HR practices across industries and organizations.
· Prepare research briefs, summaries, and analytical reports for internal use and client engagements.
2. Training & Consulting Support
· Support the development of training content, manuals, and learning materials with relevant research findings.
· Provide research inputs to consulting assignments, including policy reviews, organizational assessments, and workforce studies.
· Assist in designing survey tools, questionnaires, and assessment instruments for training and consulting projects.
· Participate in training sessions, workshops, and consulting engagements as assigned.
3. Knowledge Management & Documentation
· Maintain organized research databases, reference materials, and knowledge resources.
· Support documentation of training methodologies, consulting frameworks, and best practices.
· Ensure proper citation, version control, and confidentiality of research materials.
4. Reporting & Quality Assurance
· Prepare periodic research and activity reports for submission to the Supervisor – Training & Consulting.
· Ensure research outputs meet quality standards for accuracy, relevance, and clarity.
· Support internal reviews, audits, and quality assurance processes related to research and consulting activities.
5. Continuous Learning & Improvement
· Stay updated on current HR trends, labour legislation, and research methodologies.
· Identify emerging issues and topics relevant to training and consulting services.
· Recommend improvements to research processes, tools, and methodologies.
6. Collaboration & Support Duties
· Work closely with Training & Consulting, Editorial, and HR Services teams to support content and project needs.
· Respond to research requests from supervisors and project teams within agreed timelines.
· Perform any other duties assigned by the Supervisor – Training & Consulting.
Required Qualifications & Experience
· Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management, Industrial Psychology, Sociology, Business Administration, or a related field.
· Postgraduate qualification or professional training in Research Methods, Data Analysis, or HR Analytics is an added advantage.
· Minimum of 2–4 years of relevant experience in HR research, analytics, or consulting support roles.
· Basic understanding of research methodologies and data analysis techniques.
Skills & Competencies

· Ability to interpret HR data and present findings clearly.
· High attention to detail and accuracy.
· Good written and verbal communication skills.
· Ability to manage multiple assignments and meet deadlines.
· Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and basic data analysis tools.
