Main Purpose of Appointment:
To oversee procurement and safe custody of inventory of Company consumable items for Forestry and Plywood divisions of Miro Forestry Ghana Limited. He should ensure quality goods are purchased for use by Miro and that we obtain quality products at competitive prices in a timely fashion both locally and from out of the Country. He will play an integral role in ensuring Miro gets value for money for all purchases made while ensuring that there all available inventory items for consumable at the Stores throughout the year.
Functions of Appointment:
Duties shall include but not limited to overseeing the following:
Strategy and Development:
Contribute to the creation and implementation of best operating practices, procurement policies, processes and procedures to aid and improve operational performance
General and Task Management:
Reviewing stores levels to determine Inventory re-order and minimum levels for Motor Spare parts, Plywood and Forestry consumable items
Nurture relationships with suppliers to negotiate the best prices for company
Negotiate or renegotiate and administer contracts with vendors to ensure value for money, quality standards and delivery terms with technical and operational input from workshop and colleagues
Identify and research on potential new suppliers
Review and maintain good record of purchasing records (purchase orders, contracts, etc.) to ensure its compliance with company policies and procedures and ensure the availability of documentation in Company shared folders
Identify purchasing opportunities in Kumasi and Accra for cost savings with suppliers and have a process in place to measure effective performance, quality and compliance against set Key Performance Indicators
Provide management reports and key performance data and monitor cost savings
Evaluate the challenges faced by the business and take action to mitigate risks and develop opportunities
People Management:
Manage, coach and develop high performing Procurement and Stores teams that meet agreed objectives and which deliver best practice results, adding value and continuous improvements
Set departmental objectives/KPIs and review and assess ongoing performance of direct reports
Report on achievement of targets and identify any actions required
Ensure that the Stores operates in accordance with any health, safety and environmental policies and processes
