Vanguard Life Assurance Company Limited, a leading life assurance provider in Ghana, is seeking a motivated and results-oriented Team Leader (Retail Business) to support our growing retail sales operations. The ideal candidate will recruit, coach, and supervise a team of Sales Agents while driving the achievement of key sales targets and promoting excellent client service. This role requires a proactive leader with strong communication skills, a solid understanding of life insurance sales, and the ability to develop and implement effective sales initiatives. The successful candidate will support team performance, ensure quality business delivery, and contribute to the overall growth of the retail business.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Recruit, onboard, and develop quality sales agents to build a strong and effective sales team.
Lead, inspire, and motivate team members to consistently achieve and exceed sales targets.
Conduct structured and impactful training sessions to improve product knowledge, sales techniques, and customer service skills.
Develop and implement effective sales strategies that drive high-quality business.
Set performance targets for team members, monitor achievements, and provide continuous coaching and constructive feedback.
Support the team in developing strong, long-term client relationships to promote customer satisfaction and retention.
Ensure thorough vetting of proposal forms and timely submission of required documentation.
Demonstrate professional sales practices and ensure excellent client service delivery at all times.
Prepare and present reports on team performance, market insights, competitor activities, and sales forecasts to Branch Managers.
Requirements
Minimum of a University Diploma or a recognized Professional Qualification in Insurance.
At least one (1) year of experience in a sales leadership role or three (3) years as a top-performing Life Insurance Sales Agent.
Demonstrated ability in Sales Agency Recruitment.
Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire, guide and energize team members toward achieving set KPIs.
Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills.
Skilled in coaching, mentoring and developing team members for improved performance.
Strong problem-solving abilities and adaptability in a dynamic sales environment.
Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
In-depth understanding of sales processes and the life insurance industry.
