A well -establised school a Osu needs the serives of a Preschool Teaching Assistant (T.A). The TA is responsible for assisting with lesson preparation, classroom management and providing individualized support to students as instructed by the Classroom Teacher, to enhance their learning experience. The role is crucial in fostering a positive, inclusive, safe and supportive learning environment that enables students to reach their full potential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the classroom teacher in preparing and delivering lessons, including setting up materials and resources.Support students individually or in small groups during learning activities.
- Help manage classroom behavior and maintain a safe, engaging learning environment and encourage positive social interactions among students.
- Assist with cleaning and maintaining hygiene in the classroom and children areas including students lunch bags, cubbies, play mats, aprons, books, homework folders etc.
- Help with record-keeping/ making incidence reports by noting down in the classroom book how, what time the incidence occurred and how it was resolved.
- Assist in preparation of classroom materials, getting worksheets photocopied and managing classroom supplies (paints, stationery, furniture etc.).
- Assist in taking class photos during activities as instructed by the classroom teacher.
- Supervise students during break times, lunchtimes, bathroom breaks, after school activities, home-time packing or as needed.
- Ensure student safety and well-being at all times ensuring that the child does not self- harm/ harm others / get harmed or that no child is left unattended at any time.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by the classroom teacher administration.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent.
School Experience working with children in an educational setting, particularly in Primary or Basic education.
Basic knowledge of child development and educational practices.
Certification in Childcare, Teaching or a related field

Basic IT skills.
Working Conditions:
Full-time position based in a primary school.
Hours of work align with the school schedule, including some after-school activities as needed.
May require some physical activities, such as lifting and moving classroom equipment or assisting students with mobility needs.
