The Arts and Design Teacher will deliver engaging, creative, and rigorous instruction in line with the Cambridge (IGCSE and A-Level) and American curricula. The teacher will inspire students to develop artistic skills, critical thinking, and creative expression while preparing them to excel in internal assessments and external examinations.
Key Job Functions
Curriculum Delivery & Instruction
Plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality lessons in Arts and Design that align with Cambridge IGCSE, A-Level, and American curriculum standards.
Use a variety of teaching methodologies to engage students with different learning styles and abilities.
Incorporate practical and theoretical elements of art, design, and visual communication into lessons.
Student Assessment & Exam Preparation
Design assignments, projects, and mock examinations to prepare students for external assessments (IGCSE, A-Level, SAT, AP, etc.).
Provide constructive feedback and support students in developing strong examination portfolios.
Track and report student progress, ensuring readiness for internal and external examinations.
Creative Development & Skills Building
Encourage students to explore a wide range of artistic media, techniques, and digital tools.
Foster creativity, critical thinking, and problem-solving through individual and group projects.
Guide students in developing personal styles, themes, and portfolios for university applications and career readiness.
Learning Environment & Classroom Management
Create a safe, stimulating, and inclusive learning environment that promotes creativity and artistic exploration.
Manage classroom resources, equipment, and studio spaces effectively.
Uphold discipline and maintain high academic and behavioral expectations.
Professional Engagement & Collaboration
Participate in departmental planning, curriculum development, and school-wide events such as art exhibitions and competitions.
Collaborate with colleagues across subject areas to integrate Arts and Design into cross-curricular projects.
Engage in continuous professional development to remain updated on best practices in art education and assessment requirements.
