Millicom Ghana Limited, operators of Tigo mobile network, has opened an ultra modern customer service center in Sunyani to provide excellent services to subscribers.
The Centre, which is located at Sunyani Zongo, opposite the Municipal Hospital, would also address peculiar problems that confronted customers in
the area and the region as a whole.
At a short ceremony in Sunyani to open the Centre, Mr Anthony Dadzie, the company's territorial Manager said Millicom started operations in Ghana with only 17 subscribers.
He said due to the company's quality network, Ghana had appreciated its existence disclosing that Tigo currently had a national subscriber base of
3.5 million with nationwide coverage.
Mr Dadzie assured customers that the company would continue to find innovative ways to ensure that they use the service without any hindrances.
Mr Yussif Mohammed Hardi, Brong-Ahafo Regional Manager, said more than 300,000 people used Tigo in the region.
"We are not only concentrating on how to expand our customer base but also working to ensure the retention of our customers", he added.
Mr Hardi expressed concern about the increasing rate of stealing of mobile phones in Ghana and appealed to customers, who had not registered their SIM cards to do so to help minimize mobile phone theft.
Bofotia Boa Amponsem II, Krontihene of Sunyani, who at the ceremony appealed to the management of Tigo to consider opening similar service centers in the districts.
He noted with satisfaction that Tigo had come to stay in the region but expressed regret about its poor network service particular in some districts.
