Global Haulage Company Limited, a cocoa processing company, on Thursday presented hospital equipment worth GHc5, 000 to the Cardiothoracic Centre of the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital.
The equipment made up of 30 beds, 30 bedside cabinets, 30 mattresses and six bed sheets, are to support the hospital in its services.
Alhaji Adamu Iddrisu, Board Chairman of the company, applauded the excellent services provided by the staff of the Centre, saying the delicate nature of heart surgery required dedication and quality care which should be supported by all to ensure the safe recovery of patients.
He said the donation formed part of the company's corporate social responsibility and an opportunity to give back to society.
Professor Kwabena Frimpong Boateng, Head of the Centre, thanked the company for the kind gesture and indicated that the presentation would help solve the Centre's bedding challenges.
