Premier Brands Ghana held the 2017 Financial Services Hall of Fame in September, 2017, at The African Regent Hotel. This was in appreciation of the excellence in branding and to promote the value of brands. The programme was under the theme: “Growing the value of your brand.”
In attendance were Bond Savings and Loans, Odotobri Rural Bank and Amenfiman Rural Bank, who were inducted into the 2017 Hall of Fame. The award was to commend the banks for a good job done as well as to encourage them to be better in their brand management.
Professor Robert Ebo Hinson of the University of Ghana Business School represented Professor Ebenezer Oduro Owusu, Vice Chancellor of the University of Ghana as the presider of the event. He spoke on the essence of branding.
During his presentation, Professor Hinson encouraged banks to be effective in their branding as this could promote recognition for the business. “It is of great importance that organisations understand the brand journey.” He said. He also entreated the banks to walk the talk to prevent their customers from getting confused by their organisational goals. Professor Hinson mentioned that the CEO’s brand drives the organisational brand for the alignment to play its part. He also stated that the biggest impediment to a good brand can sometimes be found in the top management.
The evening was crowned with Professor Robert Ebo Hinson presenting certificates and citations by Premier Brands Ghana to the banks for a good job done in growing the value of their individual brands.
