The Prestea Huni-Valley Municipal Assembly has earmarked Tuesdays as the second market day to boost trading in Bogoso and its neighboring communities.
The Assembly has already adopted Saturdays as the first market day in the area.
Speaking at the launch, the Municipal Chief Executive for Prestea Huni-Valley, Mr Mozart Kwaku Owuh, said the new market day would transform and attract many people to the municipality.
He further said it would help the assembly to generate more funds to improve on the state of the market.
Mr Owuh assured the traders that the assembly would keep the market clean to promote good and healthy trading.
The Divisional Chief of Bogoso Kokoase Traditional Area, Nana Kwesi Sompreh II, noted that many traders had abandoned the Bogoso market and were conducting business along the Bogoso main road.
He appealed to management of the assembly to ensure that all those traders returned to the market as they contribute to the heavy traffic congestion during market days.
Nana Sompreh II called on the traders to support the assembly to make the second market day successful.
The queen mother of Bogoso, Nana Adwoa Tanaa II, advised the indigenes to take advantage of the market and own it.
The traders hailed the assembly and the traditional authorities for adding a second day to the already existing market day.
