The founder and CEO of Caveman Watches and Time Piece GH, Mr Anthony Dzamefe has been named the Entrepreneur of the Year at the Seventh Africa Youth Awards.

Mr Dzamefe who quit his low-paying job to venture into the manufacturing of bespoke wristwatches in Ghana pipped nine other young African entrepreneurs to the award.

The 30-year-old was nominated alongside Alex Mativo (Nanasi, Kenya), Bright Yaw Hodzor (Kaprisky Creations Gh, Ghana), Bruce Dube (Nine80 Digital Media, South Africa), Ejiro Agambi (JEOVIL GROUP, Nigeria), Gilbert Eugene Peters (Spidex Media, Zimbabwe), Hannah-Lisa Tetteh (Dr) (Health Avail, Ghana), Juana A. Boateng (JSC international, Ghana), Llewelyn Pillay (Ubunye Africa, South Africa) and Patrick Mensah Nartey (PMN Company Ltd, Ghana)

In an interview after the award presentation, Mr Dzamefe promised not to rest on his laurels, and also assured Ghanaians that very soon Caveman watches will be a global brand competing with all the major watch brands in the world.

Mr Dzamefe also expressed gratitude to his customers for their loyalty to the Caveman brand.

He said: "Just know that we are trying to build a global brand that will put Ghana firmly on the map in terms of watch-making and most importantly, impact our community as much as possible. We are yet to announce the biggest step in our Journey in this 2021. just know that something amazing is coming".

Dzamefe's watchmaking exploits have been recognized by The New York Times and his watches have also been endorsed by celebrities including Akon and Don Jazzy.
