EIGHT Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) have been honoured at the 2025 Ghana National Kaizen Awards, organised by the Ghana Enterprises Agency (GEA) in partnership with the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA).
The winners were Odina Couture, Amanex Company Limited, Aspee Pharmaceuticals Limited, Taabea Company Limited, Yedent Agro Group of Companies Limited, Mass Industries Limited, Bomarts Farms Limited, and Aniwasu Garments.
The event, held in Accra under the theme: ‘Africa Industrialisation through Fostering Competitive Firms and Value Chains in Ghana,’ celebrated enterprises that have shown innovation, productivity, and resilience.
Deputy Chief of Staff, Ms Nana Oye Bampoe Addo, described Kaizen as a “powerful metaphor for Ghana’s national journey,” stressing progress comes through “small, deliberate steps and daily discipline.”
She assured entrepreneurs of stronger government support, citing a GH¢500 million Development Bank Ghana facility and a $100 million investment to establish Africa’s first AI-powered agricultural hub.
On behalf of the Ministry of Trade, Mrs Cynthia Djokoto said Kaizen had evolved into a culture of competitiveness, improving productivity and reducing waste.
GEA Chief Executive, Ms Margaret Ansei, linked Kaizen to government’s 24-hour economy agenda, while Japanese Ambassador, Mr Hiroshi Yoshimoto, urged MSMEs to embrace discipline and ownership.
The event also launched the UNIDO Smart Performance Analytics for Real-time Kaizen (U-SPARK) Project to help firms optimise production and build resilient value chains.
