Gold Fields recorded an 18 percent increase in gold production in 2025 compared to 2024, according to the company’s Group Chief Executive Officer, Mike Fraser.
Speaking on the company’s performance for the year on Channel One TV’s The Point of View on Monday, February 23, Mr. Fraser expressed satisfaction with the output delivered by its operations worldwide.
“We are very pleased with the operational delivery from our teams across the globe. We were able to deliver an increase of 18 percent in our production year-on-year compared to 2024,” he said, noting that the growth was driven by strong contributions from various regions.
Fraser highlighted Ghana as a key part of the company’s global portfolio, describing the Tarkwa asset as a cornerstone operation.
He revealed that the Tarkwa mine produced nearly 475,000 ounces of gold in 2025. Although this represented a slight decline compared to the previous year, he explained that the reduction was strategic.
According to him, production dipped largely because the company prioritized significant waste stripping and capital development activities at the mine, which are expected to support future output.
Fraser reaffirmed Gold Fields’ commitment to strengthening its global operations, with Ghana continuing to play a central role in the company’s long-term growth strategy.
