The Ghana Stock Exchange (GSE) resumed trading after the Easter holidays on a positive note, with the GSE Composite Index (GSE-CI) adding 40.41 points to close at 13,081.19, as investors returned to select counters.
Trading data for the 7,185th session, held on April 7, 2026, showed a modest recovery, with the GSE Financial Stocks Index (GSE-FSI) rising 37.9 points to settle at 7,931.48.
Market capitalisation increased to GH¢244.37 billion, up from the previous session's GH¢243.85 billion, as the market reopened after the long Easter break.
Total volume of shares traded for the session reached 2,216,139, with aggregate value hitting GH¢10,175,677.61.s
TotalEnergies Marketing Ghana PLC (TOTAL) surged by GH¢2.56 to close at GH¢37.20, making it the session's standout performer. The oil marketing company which recently recommended a final dividend of GH¢2.3375 per share for the 2025 financial year, attracted significant investor interest, with 3,817 shares traded.
GCB Bank PLC (GCB) gained GH¢0.64 to close at GH¢25.00, while Cal Bank PLC (CAL) added GH¢0.05 to GH¢0.74. Clydestone (Ghana) PLC (CLYD) rose by GH¢0.01 to GH¢1.09.
Scancom PLC (MTNGH) remained unchanged at GH¢5.45 despite being the most actively traded counter, with 1,253,266 shares changing hands—accounting for more than half of all trading activity—and contributing GH¢6,831,204.83 to total market value.
Enterprise Group PLC (EGL) declined by GH¢0.07 to close at GH¢11.70, while Guinness Ghana Breweries PLC (GGBL) shed GH¢0.44 to GH¢15.50.
A significant number of stocks recorded no price movement during Tuesday's session, including Access Bank (ACCESS), Agricultural Development Bank (ADB), AngloGold Ashanti (AGA), Aluworks (ALW), Asante Gold Corporation (ASG), Atlantic Lithium (ALLGH), Camelot (CMLT), Cocoa Processing Company (CPC), Dannex Ayrton Starwin (DASPHARMA), Ecobank Ghana (EGH), Ecobank Transnational Inc. (ETI), Fan Milk (FML), First Atlantic Bank (FAB), Ghana Oil Company (GOIL), Mega African Capital (MAC), PBC, Republic Bank (RBGH), Standard Chartered Bank (SCB), SIC Insurance (SIC), Societe Generale Ghana (SOGEGH), Trust Bank Gambia (TBL), Tullow Oil (TLW), Unilever (UNIL), and NewGold (GLD).
On the Ghana Alternative Market, all stocks remained unchanged.
The GSE-CI has now gained 49.15 per cent since the start of the year, while the financial stocks index remains up 70.67 per cent year-to-date.
Tuesday's session brought a quiet reopening to the market after the Easter break, with TotalEnergies providing the biggest boost while most other stocks traded within narrow ranges.
