Mr Dhamendra Sharma, Vice President, Poly Group of Companies, on Thursday urged farmers to do more to ensure food security in the country and beyond.
He said: "We are lucky in Ghana to have more fertile land than elsewhere and if our farmers are supported to work hard we can export food abroad in an era where there are worldwide shortages in grains."
Mr Sharma, in an interview with the GNA ahead of the Farmers' Day celebration slated for 2nd November, urged Ghanaians to consume food grown in Ghana.
He said the Mohinani Group of Companies, have presented assorted products which includes Poly Tanks, water containers, sacks and carton boxes to the Ministry of Food and Agriculture as their contribution to encourage and support farmers in the society.
