Nana Ama saved the night when she got on stage to treat the audience to Samini's My Own and Kofi Kinaata's Things Fall Apart which livened up the auditorium of the National Theatre and actually saw people on their feet dancing.
Apart from Nana Ama, comedian Hogan from Nigeria didn't do badly, he treated the audience to some rib-cracking jokes.
The Ghanaian comedian Warris was such a disappointment, his jokes were dry and inappropriate and he didn't have any business coming on the stage.
The 8 p.m. advertised event started at a few minutes to midnight and when MCs Kwasi Kyei Darkwa (KKD) and Afia Schwarzenegger came on stage nicely dressed in Kente, the microphone was not working and it stayed like that for a while before being fixed.
The whole event was so boring and a popular actor who pleaded anonymity told Graphic Showbiz this was the worst movie awards he had ever attended.
"This is the worst Ghana Movie Awards I have attended, it was so boring. I think Phred Nuamah should hand the awards scheme to someone else because as things stand now, it's very bad. I am so embarrassed," he said.
