The hacker this time retweeted tweets from several accounts, but focused primarily on the handle @iNuBLoM, which was also referenced during Carey’s hack.

One tweet from @MJerkme that was retweeted by the hacker and directed at Barack Obama, calls the former president an “arangatang monkey” and continues, “u ruined my life when u messed with the food stamp rates i hate u forever retart.” According to reports, other tweets that appear to have been deleted referenced Carey’s hacking and at least one was directed at Donald Trump. Another tweet that remains up references A$AP Ferg.

Chuckling Squad has also been linked to the hacking of Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey’s account, with at least one individual arrested in connection with Dorsey’s hacking. According to Motherboard, Dorsey’s hack was carried out using a technique called SIM-swapping, where hackers trick a wireless provider like T-Mobile or Verizon into giving control of a phone number. Hackers can then gain access to two-factor authentication SMS codes post tweets via Twitter’s now-defunct text-to-tweet functionality. It’s unknown if Carey and Sandler’s hacking was carried out the same way.
