Some students at the Takoradi Secondary School (TADISCO) in the Western Region have been sent home for non-payment of school fees.
Mr. Moses Ansah, Assistant Headmaster of TADISCO, who disclosed this to the Ghana News Agency on Monday at Takoradi, explained that parents of the defaulting students had been informed about the decision of the school authorities at a Parent-Teacher Association, meeting, on December 5, last year.
He said though the school was aware of the financial difficulties parents were going through, they (parents) were expected to negotiate payment terms with the authorities .
Mr. Ansah said that "letters and text messages were sent to parents of defaulting students last year, but the school did not receive any positive response from them", adding that strict measures must be taken to facilitate payment of school fees.
