At least 20 people, including one child, were killed when a passenger plane crashed in south-eastern Kazakhstan, local airline Scat reported Tuesday.
The crash of the Bombardier CRJ 200 plane took place near the city of Almaty after taking off from the northern city of Kokshetau, some 1,250 kilometres away.
According to the state-run Kazinform news agency, the pilots lost control of the aircraft in thick fog. A first attempt at a landing had been called off just before the crash.
Scat reported that there were 15 passengers and five crew on board. dpa bvi bve ar sdl Authors: Benedikt von Imhoff and Wolfgang Jung
