The Awutu-Senya West District Chief Executive (DCE), Mr Sampson Armah Abequaye on Wednesday handed over a boys' dormitory renovated by the District Assembly at a cost of GHc125,000 to the Obrachere Senior High/Technical.
The dormitory was destroyed by fire on December 24, 2012, during which personal belongings, textbooks, trunk boxes, beds and other learning material belonging to the students were also burnt.
The DCE also presented relief items made up of 100 student mattresses, 200 cups, blankets, plates, soaps and rubber buckets that were donated by the National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO) to the school.
Speaking at the handing over ceremony, Mr Abequaye urged heads of government department and institutions to adopt procurement procedures to avoid problems in their various outfits.
The Awutu-Senya West District Director of the Ghana Education Service (GES), Mr Edentwi Edii, thanked the Assembly and NADMO for coming to the aid of the school.
