The management of Berlin Investment Limited, an
indigenous cosmetic company, on Monday launched "The Face of Black's Secret" beauty contest to select models to build its brand.
The company, which specializes in the production of make-up products designed specifically for black African women, is using the contest to search for a young lady between 18 and 30 years to act as a Face Model and Spokesmodel to represent its Black's Secret Brand for 2010.
This follows the successful launch of its range of make-up products onto the Ghanaian cosmetics market.
The products, which include foundation make-ups, colour make-ups and mineral make-ups, contain sun protection ingredients to maintain the skin's natural pigment to protect and preserve it against diseases.
Mr. William Bedzrah, Public Relations and Events Executive of Berlin Investment, who launched the contest in Accra, said the company believed in using local materials to build an international brand hence the search for a
Ghanaian woman to be its Face model and Spokesmodel.
He said the annual event include social and commercial aspects, the social aspect would educate young women on beauty with fun, entertainment and build confidence among young Ghanaian woman in society while the commercial aspect was to sustain the event over a long period.
Mr. Bedzrah explained that the contest was open to all young women who aspired to be famous and "To participate in the contest, all you need is purchase Black's Secret products from designated cosmetic shops, obtain a form, fill it, add your photographs before and after using the products and return them to the designated locations or join the Face of Black's Secret
Group on FACEBOOK on the internet".
The winner would receive a brand new KIA CERATO Saloon car, GHc6,000 annual allowance, Black's Secret products for a year, brand endorsement contract for a year and other prizes from sponsors.
First and second runners-up would receive consolation prizes at the contest under the theme "Your face can make you famous" which begins from
January to April 2010.
