Mr. Ekoe Paniy, Member of Parliament for Gomoa East Constituency (MP), has called on Ghanaians to exercise patience with the Government and support its programme to enable it to build a better Ghana.
He advised the people to unite and not to consider their political rivals as enemies.
Mr Paniy was addressing a durbar of chiefs and people of Gomoa Kweikrom to commemorate the annual Akwambo festival on Saturday.
The people used the festival to take stock of the past and planned for the coming years.
Mr. Paniy said the development of the country depended on the collective responsibility of the people and the government.
He said: "We should not let the numerous problems facing us to hinder us from contributing our quota toward the better Ghana agenda being executed by the government under the leadership of President John Atta Mills"
Mr. Isaac Kingsley A. Amoah, District Chief Executives for Gomoa East, charged parents to invest in the education of their children to enable them to acquire knowledge and skills needed for national development.
He asked the youth to work hard and not to indulge in negative tendencies that would affect their welfare.
Mr. Amoah said plans were being made to repair the roads in the districts to facilitate economic activities.
