Information Minister Mr. John Tia Akologu has urged the staff of his ministry to put aside party affiliations, ethnicity and work harmoniously to achieve national goals.
"I want all of us to work selflessly as a team for a worthy cause. Do not say I am this or that. We are all one, working for mother Ghana."
Mr.Akologu was speaking at a staff durbar organised in Accra on Wednesday to familiarise himself with the operations of the Ministry of
Information.
He said the Ministry had re-engineered itself to provide targets for the staff to meet adding "how do we award a person who sleeps at his desk or
leaves office for home about 1600 hours or earlier."
Mr. Akologu, who is also the Member of Parliament for Talensi, tasked management and staff of the Ministry to adopt innovative measures aimed at harnessing the economic potential of the equipment, to rake in more funds than the Ministry currently received from government.
Mr. Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa,a Deputy Minister of Information, called for a blend of experienced hands and the willing exuberant in the human
resource base at the Ministry which was critical for quality service delivery.
