A heavy rainfall accompanied by strong winds has displaced hundreds of people in four farming communities in the Atwima-Mponua district in the Ashanti Region.
The four communities are Agogoso, Akonkye, Kataakyewa and Adumasa.
The storm ripped off the roofs and badly damaged the walls of a number of buildings including, two primary school.
The children and the teachers of the affected schools now hold classes under trees while the displaced has put up with their friends and relatives.
Mrs Theresah Adomako-Tawiah, the District Chief Executive, in collaboration with the District NADMO Coordinator, had visited the communities to assess the extent of the destruction and how to go about giving out relief items to the disaster victims.
The DCE pledged that the assembly would stand with them in their difficult moments.
