Professor Agyeman Badu Akosa, President of Kwame Nkrumah Foundation on Friday stressed the need for governments to govern with the dignity of the Ghanaian in mind.
He said: "We must govern with the dignity of the Ghanaian in mind. It must be possible to pay realistic wages to enable our hard working men and women live in dignity. We must most certainly show
them respect above all else. It can be done and it must be done".
Prof. Akosa made the call in a congratulatory message to organised labour in the commemoration of this year's May Day celebration on Saturday, May 1.
It is under the theme; "Consolidating Workers' Solidarity and the Legacy of Osagyefo Dr Kwame Nkrumah".
He called on Ghanaian workers to demand fairness and enforcement of laws adding; "Nobody must be above the law".
Prof. Akosa reminded Ghanaians of Dr Nkrumah's government that was busy working hard to abolish poverty, ignorance and disease and chose to make the welfare of Ghanaians its chief pride.
"We can have governments like that again, emphatic with the suffering workers of Ghana. The workers must identify with those who feel for them. They have very limited choice," he added.
