The Management of the National Youth Employment Programme (NYEP), on Wednesday announced that all beneficiaries who have just exited the programme can access their four or five months arrears from
their accounts at the various branches and designated rural banks.
A statement issued by NYEP Research and Communications Department and signed by Mr. Ibrahim Murtala Muhammed, said arrangements were being made to pay the remaining one month arrears.
The statement assured beneficiaries that there were plans to absorb them into an exit plan which had been earlier announced by Management.
The Management had earlier announced that all beneficiaries who had served two years under the NYEP would exit in March 2010.
The statement further urged those interested in the Health Extension Workers module, Community Education Teaching Assistants module and the
Community Protection Units Module to go to various NYEP district offices to process their application.
"However newly recruits into the NYEP are not affected by this arrangement," the statement said.
