Government has been petitioned to compel the Fair Wages and Salary Commission to dialogue with the leadership of the association to resolve the Single Spine Pay Policy (SSPP) dispute.
The Ashanti branch of the Civil and Local Government Staff Association of Ghana (CLOGSAG) that issued the petition, said it was necessary to ensure smooth implementation of the new pay policy and clip industrial unrest.
The statement that was signed by Mr. Kwame Asamoah-Dwomoh, Regional Chairman of ClOGSAG, asked the members to be calm as the group was seeking
acceptable resolution of issues that had been raised with Commission.
The petition that was issued at the end of the regional delegates' conference of the association held in Kumasi on Wednesday, said the group would not accept any pay policy that would be to the disadvantage of members.
The CLOGSAG has raised red flags over the grading structure of the SSPP, placement, steps increment, allowances paid, conversion criteria and
conversion differences and demanded comprehensive guidelines on the policy.
