President John Evans Atta Mills has consoled Mr Donald Tusk, Prime Minister of Poland and the people of that country on the tragic death of their President, Lech Kacznski.
A statement issued in Accra and signed by Mr John Tia Akologu, Minister of Information quoted President Mills' message to Premier Tusk.
It said the news of the air disaster, which resulted in the tragic death of President Lech Kacznski of Poland, and his spouse together with a significant number of the country's political and military leadership has been received with deep shock and dismay by the government and people of Ghana.
The statement said that the circumstances of this tragedy made the loss doubly painful to the Polish nation and bereaved families.
It said that "The People and Government of Ghana and I personally share the grief and pain of the Government and People of Poland over this irreparable loss and we hasten to express our deep and heartfelt condolences to you and to all the families that have lost their loved ones.
"We are confident that providence will grant you the strength and fortitude necessary to bear your grief with dignity and forbearance. Accept, Mr. Prime Minister, the assurances of my highest consideration".
