The Asante-Mampong Divisional Police Commander, Chief Superintendent Edward Oduro-Kwateng, has warned that personnel of the Service who misconduct themselves would be dealt with.
The Police Administration would insist on high professional standards and would not encourage acts of indiscipline that create image problems for the institution, he said.
Chief Superintendent Oduro-Kwateng was addressing the annual social event of the police service (WASSA) at Asante-Mampong.
He praised the officers and men of the Command for their hard work and dedication, reflecting in crime reduction in the municipality.
He said six dangerous highway robbers who had been terrorizing people in the area and had been on the police wanted list for some time, had been arrested and jailed 100 years each.
Giving statistics on robbery, murder and rape cases recorded in the area within the past two years, Chief Superintendent Oduro-Kwateng said, in 2008 four robbery cases were reported and this reduced to two in 2009.
There were six murder cases in the area in the year 2008. This went down to four in 2009 with two murder cases reported this year.
The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), Mr Daniel Appau-Ohyeamang, commended the police for the good job they were doing and pledged the assembly's support.
He called on the people to provide the police with leads to hunt down criminals and bring them to justice.
Three policemen, District Sergeant Major Bismark Kwasi Akadi, Lance Corporal Agyemang Boadi and Constable Richmond Delali were presented with prizes for their outstanding performance.
