Fifty-eight cadets of the National Cadet Corps were admitted to the Kottarakara taluk hospital after they showed symptoms of food poisoning.
They belong to a group of 600 NCC cadets who are attending a camp at the Trikannamangalam SK VHS school ground in Kerala state in south India. The camp began on May 11.
On Sunday night, 20 cadets were admitted to the hospital after they showed symptoms of food poisoning. Early yesterday, 38 more who showed similar symptoms were hospitalised. Doctors attending on them said they were out of danger.
The NCC camp was oganised for the cadets of 17 schools from the eastern sector of the district. Medical authorities reached the scene yesterday to study the situation.
They collected samples of the food given to the cadets on Sunday and have sent it to Thiruvananthapuram for examination.
