Peter Afeletey and Mensah Gborsike said to be a pastor and farmer respectively, have appeared before a Ho Circuit Court for allegedly digging a grave at Fodzoku, a farming community near Juapong.
They have pleaded not guilty and been granted bail of GHC 2,000 and a surety each to re-appear on June 3, this year.
Prosecuting, Police Chief Inspector Sampson Agboado, told the Court presided over by Mr Frank Owusu-Afriyie that Afeletey, Gborsike and two
others were spotted by a complainant on the night of April 17 this year, digging the grave in which one Diana Tsikudo was buried earlier that day.
Chief Inspector Agboado said the four persons took to their heels when the complainant raised the alarm, and he chased them and arrested Gborsike
who mentioned Afeletey and two others now at large as accomplices.
Mr Agboado said the culprits left a hoe, shovel, a small mirror, some quantity of akpeteshie, a piece of calico and other spiritual materials near the grave.
He said when Afeletey was searched in the chief's house, a piece of paper bearing the name Augustine Yawa Kumasi, whom he said was his wife was found on him.
Chief Inspector Agboado said Afeletey explained that one Hunor Dzoboe a fetish priest was about to purify him so that his wife who stole his 2,000 Ghana cedis and left him for Kumasi would return with the money.
He said Afeletey and Gborsike were later handed over to the Police who processed them for court after investigations.
