Turkey and Russia signed a nuclear cooperation deal here on Tuesday, foreseeing information and know- how exchanges on licensing of nuclear facilities and activities.
Under the agreement, the Turkish Atomic Energy Agency (TAEK) and the Russian Technical Supervisory Authority (Rostechnadzor) will cooperate in such fields as licensing and supervision regulation, protection from radiation, and nuclear facilities' quality management.
The agreement was inked by Turkish Energy Minister Taner Yildiz and Russian Deputy Prime Minister Igor Sechin. Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan and his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin attended the signing ceremony.
