Bonades Limited, a construction firm, has presented items and drugs worth about GH�2,500 to Lihope Organisation, an Orphanage and Home for People Living with HIV/AIDS (PLW).
The company also presented a cheque for GH� 500 to support the up keep of the inmates.
The items included biscuits, milk and milo, cooking oil, disinfectants, fruits and beverages, rice, sugar, beans, gari, sugar and bread.
Presenting the items on Saturday at in Accra, Dr Desmond Aryee-Boi, Chief Executive Officer of Bondes Limited said that the gesture was part of the company's social responsibility to help bridge the gap between the "haves and haves not " and to show love and care for the inmates of the orphanage
"As a company we owe it an obligation to give back to society also, we believe that we have a responsibility towards humanity as Jesus' life on earth depicted," he added.
Dr Aryee-Boi advised parents, especially fathers to refrain from spending lavishly and provide their children with basic needs and to ensure that they go to school.
He said "We also take this opportunity to entreat the general public to support this home in every way possible but to scrutinise their work ".
Madam Vivian Gasu, Executive Director of Lihope Organisation, who received the items, said the orphanage, was constrained by inadequate
facilities and stigmatisation.
She called on government to set up a soft loan center at the Ministry of Women and Children Affair to enable PLWA access such facility to help boost their business.
Madam Gasu said that the current loan facilities being offered by financial institutions in the country had stringent conditions which PLW HIV/AIDS members find difficult to meet, preventing them from accessing such facility.
She said, "We are very grateful for your kind donation and we promise to distribute the items to all the children."
Madam Gasu appealed to the public to come to the aid of the Home.
