Mrs Lordina Dramani Mahama, Wife of the Vice President, has presented assorted items to three of her adopted orphanages in the Brong Ahafo Region.
The Items, which comprised bales of clothing, rice, oil, sugar, detergents, candies, wrist bands and caps went to Bethesda Children's Home, FrankMay and Let Kids Smile orphanages.
The items were presented on behalf of her organisation, the Alternative Source of Income
Programme (ASOIP), which is geared towards helping the under-privileged, orphans and widows in the society.
The Second Lady's visit to the orphanages afforded her the opportunity to interact with managers of the facilities and also find ways of tackling the challenges confronting them.
The managers of the homes commended Mrs Mahama for her support over the last one year, which they said had contributed greatly to improve the lives of the children.
The initial donation of ASOIP went to a number of orphanages in the Brong Ahafo and Northern regions.
Mrs Mahama has through her organisation presented a number of hospital items including delivery beds, wheel chairs and uniforms to a number of health facilities in the Greater Accra and Brong Ahafo regions.
